119 bench press reps - today’s session was BIG. 5x10 @ 140kg big PB on TNG bench. 5x15/15/15/12/12 @ 90kg on incline paired with some good barbell row work too. More exercises to follow but this is the main work. Coping well with it and enjoying my sessions big time.

Sumos clicked really well tonight. Doing things better at the lighter loads than I have in the past. However the close stance deadlifts I’m doing in the form of 1x conventional and 1x SLDL per week are feeling stronger and more natural every session 🤔 Something cool like a 15-20kg PB here for 8 on my touch + go SLDL 😊 went 150/160/170/180/160. Head down, tunnel vision. Let’s do some awesome shit.

Been two weeks since a six week layover from day to day training (Europe fun- chasing the summer) but a combination of sickness, the cold weather and other factors have made  it hard for me to get back into it and find my routine. However a new week marks the start of a new 12 week training block for me, incorporating new movements outside the gym! Keen keen keen! #letsgo

Accumulating lots of good and big sessions. Comp bench is particularly hot and cold from a skill POV. The coach in me is objectively able to say that is fine, and despite that, I’m doing more weekly work than ever before. Plus, my accessory work load is sky high too. Right now it’s time to grow and work. The more emotional athlete in me wants to pick apart every little thing that is “wrong”. A middle ground is ideal though so am working on that mentally 🥴

#12monthsago today on the left. This morning on the right.
The pic on the left came up in my memories and I was a little bit shocked. I looked in the mirror at the gym and just had this moment of, ”wow”. I have actually come a long long way. I am just a little proud of myself, not something I feel very often.
I've been through some epic crap in the last two years, but the end of the day, I am so much stronger for it.
I am determined (or should that read #stubborn) to not let my experiences beat me, and if I can help just one person in the process of sharing my story, the ups and the downs, that's what's counts.
I don't want to die from obesity related disease, or mental illness.
Every day I am a little stronger and I sincerely hope that I can help others by sharing my story.

Key movements for today. Post deload I’m feeling great 😁😯 A nice clean start for these exercises and super keen to ramp up. Hardest of the three was the 3 count SLDL which was ~RPE 7-8 by the 3rd set/10th rep. This has been a staple exercise so far and I’ve been working hard on my post chain. Cautious loading on quad dominant movements this week after a bit of a overspill last block. Excellent stimulus and quality this session which is always the goal amongst work completed 🧠 Followed up with 6 sets of hamstring focused accessories 🤓🔥

As someone who suffers with anxiety, I really struggle with the unfamiliar. Going new places and meeting new people is really difficult for me. Training in a different gym is exceptionally difficult. I feel like a fish out of water, the equipment is different, the vibe is different, I stress about who is watching me, am I being judged. It's just SO HARD.
I have a lot of goals I am working towards, one of the big ones I am working on is my anxiety and trying to get more comfortable with the uncomfortable.
I really really struggled in my session this morning. I didn't want to be there, I wanted to run away.
But the thing is, I pushed through it, and you know what, I ended up actually having a really good session. I am enjoying my training at the moment, and I am using that help push me through.

I may have anxiety but anxiety doesn't have me. I may never be free from this god awful condition but I will keep pushing through the boundaries and doing my best to be the best me I can be.
Monday session complete. Volume shoulders and 2k thunder thigh shuffle.

3x8 @ 180kg. Conventional deadlifts are starting to “feel good”. A slight redesign of my style and thought process, with a higher hip starting position and more flexed spine, has enabled me to groove a really comfortable rhythm within an exercise where I admittedly have low levels of experience and confidence. Hamstrings and glutes are super engaged here. Staying in the “student” head space and really enjoying that. Last session of deload today which is exciting too.

Since cutting out lower body training due to injury, I've primarily focused on upper body. As much as I'm frustrated about not being able to train lower body, I know in the long run I’ll be better off, giving my body a chance to heal fully.
As a result, Ya girl has grown some itty bitty delts with all the extra upper body work 😍😍
(might be super proud of them.. Can you tell?)
And the bingo wings are smaller!!

Moral of the story is, DON’T RUSH INJURY RECOVERY
Listen to your body and keep training areas you can.
When someone close to you says how much you've changed (physically) since meeting them, you have to do a side by side just to check because you don't believe them... Yeah, proven wrong.

I'm proud of where I'm at. Long way to go but you know what, I've been through some crap stuff BUT I'm stubborn enough to not let it beat me. Has it slowed my progress, hell yes, but will it beat me... HELL NO.

Looking back to where I started, I get sad that I let myself ever get to that point but at the same time, I am so proud of her for having the courage to get started.
I've ridden on one of the most epic rollercoasters call life, the last few years, I've had more than my fair shares of ups and downs.
I have a long way to go yet, but I am so proud of what I have achieved, and the lessons I've learned.
If my story, my ups and downs, can help just one person, it's all worth it.

Happy Saturday friends!
It's been a busy day, smashed myself silly at the gym and then a few other errands. 11k steps and a bench session. Safe to say I'm a little bit tired... OOOH! And I ran a bit... Ok, I ran three times for like a minute, and then nearly died when my heart rate hit 195 bpm. Whoops.
Here's to sleeping well tonight!!
Not a bad session for the day.
Shoulder session with the incomparable Miss @zlnewton_xo and then another 5k on the treadmill. I may have had a little run at the end and it felt good. Really good.

Forward is forward. One step at time.
No PT this morning so got in and got 5k done on the treadmill. Muscle in my backside is feeling okay at the moment but still hesitant to get back into any lower body training just yet. Slow and steady, better to leave a bit longer than rush it and end up in a world of hurt again!

8s at 160kg on both the front squat and 5c SLDL. On review some were 4c and some were 5c. Honestly these two exercises as well as some 20 rep reverse lunges, 30 rep occlusion leg extensions, and 15-20 rep slider curls, made for an extremely challenging session. Thanks to @nickcheadlefitness for saving me by lending me his shorts 😆 forgot mine 🤦‍♂️ -
