You don’t need a good instrument, you need a good imagination.
Anyone who grew up in #pakistan must have seen similar shots of lake #saifulmalook in documentaries and magazines. The day I saw these, I wanted to take one myself.
When you set off for Naran, soon you are accompanied by the #kunhar river. It is 166 KMs long and originates from #lulusarlake lakesituated about 50 KMs upstream from the valley. Waters of #Dudipat and #saifulmalook Lakes feed the river besides glacial waters from #malkaparbat and other high peaks in the valley. The Kunhar river flows through the entire Khagan valley, #jalkhand, #balakot and #garhihabibullah. The River merges with #jhelum rive at confluence just outside #muzaffarabad in the AJK province, Pakistan.
A visit to Naran is incomplete without visiting its most beautiful and famous lake #Saif-Ul-Mulook. Hence, it was undoubtedly our first and foremost choice. I had visited it before, but this time I wanted to stay there at night to witness and capture its beauty especially during the sun rise. Fortunately, we managed to spend the night there somehow. It was cloudy the previous night so I woke up very early in morning in hopes of catching a glimpse of the sun rising behind the gigantic mountains that surround the lake. Also to frame this picture with my own hands using my old Nokia 3500c that has a 2MP back camera.
Cannot express my excitement and feelings in words when I saw the first golden rays touching the tips of snow laden mountains behind the lake. Don’t recall now how long I stood there frozen, wondering and praising the entire scene that I used to watch in videos and photographs captured by others and eventually managing to witness the entire scene with my naked eyes. #visitpakistan#explorenorthpakistan#visitnorthpakistan
Saiful Muluk was so beautiful! A local told us about how his relative ventured into the middle of the lake and drowned and everyone was too scared to go rescue him bc most Pakistani locals believe the lake is sort of cursed or there's some dangerous vortex in the middle of it that you can't escape. Sort of like a Bermuda triangle sort of thing. Breathtaking views! Will never forget my trip. Be back there asap to visit again.
