⚡️SAY YES TO OPPORTUNITY💪🏼
Adversity in our lives is one of the greatest opportunities for growth that can come our way. Although this is true, nobody wishes for misfortune, but the Universe always sends it our way—for good reason.
“A smooth sea never made a good sailor,” but a good sailor is never in his quarters when the seas are rough.
Depending how we view our difficulties plays a large role in how we change when we arrive on the other side of the speed bump. 💪🏼
Holding the positive view that there is a learning opportunity in our adversities opens our mind to new possibilities. We recognize the lessons offered to us and assimilate them the first time we experience them. 💪🏼
The people that “never learn” simply do not recognize the lessons they have been presented with, or do not place enough value or emotion on these lessons to change their core beliefs for the better. It’s easy to take this route, or worse: “the victim role.”
When we are experiencing negative emotions, which in themselves are not bad, our mind will create all kinds of nasty stuff if and only if we leave it to it’s own devices. 💪🏼
It’s as if we are the captian of our ship and one of our lieutenants is creating opposition by taking matters into his own hands. We must calmly, sternly, and compassionately give the lieutenant (our mind) his orders. We must give the mind instructions as to what to do and how to think, especially in these moments of difficulty.
What are those instructions?
Becoming aware of opportunity, being grateful for the lessons life is trying to teach you, and taking mental or physical action on these lessons to grow and make them a part of your life.
TOOLS: Two of my favorite ways of facilitating this action are journaling about my thoughts and feelings of adversity and talking to someone about them, whether that’s a friend, partner, or therapist.
The research study that sparked these ideas studied 276 diverse adults going through many forms of adversity. Researchers found that “individuals experienced more growth if they had experienced more core belief disruption and more engagement with new possibilities...Engagement may
A New Beginning:
Even tho it seems like the beginning isn’t new at all. It’s overwhelming. It is. When you think you got thru something just to he brought right back to it. But don’t let it phase you. Everything happens for a reason. Every heartache or heartbreak, happens for a reason. With every regret, a lesson has been met. Don’t underestimate the power of the universe. Everything will come to you in it’s right time. If shit is fucked up right now, push thru it. Because it’ll get better. You elevate on all levels. So just when you think you got YOU right , other things around you need to rise as well. You’re in control of your own life.

This post is so true honestly. This path definitely isn’t a straight line. I constantly revisit things I thought I had all figured out, just to see there was something else I still needed to work on. I’m learning everyday. Growing everyday. Just to try and reach my full potential. I’m not perfect. I fuck up sometimes. As we all. But I don’t dwell on the fuck ups. I use them as lessons. We all have things we need to work on. It’s about admitting to your faults and understanding that those are things that need to be worked on. I say that to say this, don’t ever think you have it all figured out. There’s always something you can do to better yourself.
