Lacock Abbey, Wiltshire, England
In 1535 the Abbey was visited by the King’s Commissioners, who found
that there was no disorder, and that the nuns knew and understood the
rules. The revenues were adequate and on payment of a fine, they were allowed to remain. In spite of this however, the Abbey was suppressed in 1539 but it was one of the last of the religious monasteries to be closed. Unlike other
Abbeys it seems to have closed peacefully and the nuns were given pensions.

The cathedral in Roskilde dates back 1000 years and houses the burial places of our kingdom's most prominent kings, queens and other nobility through time. This is the sarcophagus of King Christian the 5th, who died in 1699, and the figure painted on the wall in the back is King Harald Bluetooth (died around year 985) who supposedly founded the first church on the site. Legend has it that his remains are buried in the wall behind the painting. Very interesting place, also for kids. Spent an entire hour there with my 4 year-old looking for kings, princesses and knights. Oh, and tiny cathedrals built in LEGO.
