It’s #TacoTuesday 🌮 and I’m loving on this rainbow taco salad from last week! If you ever have leftovers from taco night but have run out of shells, throw it all on a bed of lettuce, crumble on some blue corn chips and call it a day. ⠀
My favourite part of this salad? The mashed pinto beans mixed with cilantro, lime juice & Mexican spices. A great plant-based alternative to your traditional taco meat with mega flavour. 🌱 I also always use plain greek yogurt instead of sour cream on all my taco dishes – you literally can’t taste the difference. ⠀

y’all have some sweet teeth! 🦷 last week’s banana zucchini muffins were my most saved recipe ever! giving y’all some more sweet treat ideas 👏🏼 this week i made some 🍌🍪 ABC COOKIES 👉🏼 A: almond butter, B: banana, C: chocolate chips 🤪 completely gluten-free, vegan, and even refined sugar-free 🤸🏻♀️
makes 12 super pillowy cookies, almost like muffin tops! ☁️Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Mash 2 bananas in a large bowl. Add 1 tbsp vanilla extract, 1/4 cup water, and 1/2 cup almond butter. Whisk until smooth. Add 1 cup almond flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp salt. Whisk until smooth. Fold in 1/2 cup chocolate chips, 1/4 cup chopped walnuts, and 1/4 cup coconut flakes. Drop 12 even mounds onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 18-20 minutes. Enjoy! 🍌

Grilled Chicken Skewers + Homemade Tzatziki 🔥🌞🌡 .
1.5 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 2-inch pieces
1 Tbsp olive oil, or avocado oil
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp cayenne
sea salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste, about 1/4 teaspoon each
For the Tzaztiki dip:
1 cup plain whole Greek yogurt
1/2 cup seeded, grated cucumber
3 Tbsps chopped fresh dill
2 Tbsps fresh lemon juice
3 fresh garlic cloves, minced
sea salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
Serving Ideas: lemon wedges, chopped tomatoes or cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, bell peppers, red onion, etc.
Start by making your Tzatziki dip: combine all ingredients in a bowl/jar, taste test, adjust as desired, then refrigerate until ready to use.
If using wooden skewers, allow them to begin soaking in water for at least 20 minutes, to prevent burning.
Next, preheat your grill to medium-high.
In a medium bowl, add your chicken pieces and sprinkle with oregano, thyme, cayenne, sea salt and pepper, then drizzle with oil, and toss and stir well to coat.
Thread 3-4 pieces of chicken onto each skewer as shown, then arrange them on the grill with some space in between each skewer.
Close the grill lid and cook for about 7 minutes until chicken is cooked through, flipping them a couple of times during cooking time..

I bought a sweater yesterday... and was sent into a full blown panic attack.
Summer feels like it is slipping away, leaving me anxious and worried about the change of seasons (and don’t even get me started on the idea of snow). So today I am challenging myself to be present- to be grateful for this late-August heat wave, for the ability to go to a farmers market to pick up fresh produce, to reflect on the amazing summer I have had so far full of sunshine and family. I am so, so privileged.
One thing I’ve mastered this summer is a perfectly cooked salmon. Crispy skin, flaky layers, beautiful pink middle. I’ve been serving it on basically anything but this greens, sweet potato, red beets, and sprout plate was as delicious as it was beautiful 🌈. My secret? Cook skin side down in a roaring hot cast iron until cooked half way through, then flip and place in a 400 degree oven until the skin is crackling and the center is hot (5-8 minutes depending on your filet). Juicy, crispy salmon every time! 💕

OESTROGEN DOMINANCE… when a woman has deficient, normal, or excessive oestrogen but little or no progesterone to balance oestrogen’s effects.
I see it everyday in clinic.
Hormones are the chemical messengers that control major body functions. Any imbalance can wreak havoc on your health.
Oestrogen is a fabulous hormone:
– it gives you hips, breasts, and thighs.
– It builds up the endometrial tissue in your uterus during your cycle ( important when having a baby).
– It protects your brain, heart, and bones
BUT there are different types of oestrogen.
The “good” metabolites are known to have high antioxidant activity, which provides protection for the brain and heart.
The “bad” metabolites have been tied to cancer and weight gain.
Extra inches (especially) around the middle, ongoing fatigue, skin issues, trouble sleeping, PMS, PCOS, fibroids or fertility issues you may have a hormone imbalance.
What can cause hormone imbalance? • Being overweight or obese (fat cells produce excess oestrogen)
• Being overly stressed (adrenal hormones are overly stimulated)
• Poor diet choices
