When I was a senior in high school, I volunteered at elementary library to catalog and sort through the books. When it was slow, I would hide in a particular corner to read. I had three study halls, and frankly, if I stayed in the study hall room, it was far too loud to read anything. The library was always quiet. Once I forgot my book and pulled from the shelf biography of Roald Dahl, a version suitable for a child, and what stuck from me in that book was Dahl’s father believed that if you surround yourself (particular a pregnant women) around beautiful things than a person becomes beautiful.
This restaurant in Fulton Market in Chicago is very beautiful and reminds me of what Dahl’s father said. They had brought a magical out-door vibe of a Mediterranean coastal nature. The food reflected that same magical vibe. Of course it would. In the moment I dined there, I too felt beautiful.
The Chicago Architecture Center River Tour was a great way to spend Saturday morning! We were lucky to have sunshine during our ride. We went to lunch after and it started pouring as soon as we got out of the car. 🌧
